THE WORLD ENERGY COUNCIL
Founded in 1923, the Council is the UN-accredited global energy body — an impartial network of leaders across governments, companies, universities, and research institutions in more than 90 countries, advancing the sustainable supply and use of energy for all.
WEC-US — THE U.S. COMMITTEE
Launched in 2026 and hosted by EPRI, WEC-US is the Council's United States member committee — an independent, non-lobbying forum where the U.S. power sector convenes, and its avenue for engaging the rest of the world on energy.

A U.S.–Chile task force, launched in a week.
Following remarks at the Foro de Energía Chile 2026, WEC-US met Chile's Minister of Energy and the U.S. Ambassador — and the two sides agreed to establish a task force bringing together WEC-US, WEC Chile, the Institute of the Americas, and the U.S. Embassy in Santiago to open new pathways of energy collaboration between the two countries.
